I am a Northern Film School undergraduate specialising in producing, with experience producing short films from development through to the finalised film. I have proven my ability to manage budgets, schedules, crews and logistics whilst maintaining a creative vision. From collaborating with various crews to bring their stories to life, this has laid the foundation to my creative and practical aspects of filmmaking.
During my final year at The Northern Film School, I undertook a series of specialism workshops as part of the Major project module that significantly expanded my understanding of the producer's role. These included 1st AD workshops as well, which were particularly valuable in developing my understanding of set etiquette, scheduling and the importance of communication and coordination across departments. I also gained practical insight into on-set protocols and production workflows. This has helped strengthen my ability to manage time and people effectively.
Throughout the year, I had the opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals inducing producer Rob Speranza, whose guidance gave me a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and challenges facd by producers. His insight into everything from budgeting and crew management and creative collaboration was instrumental in shaping my approach to the role.
With working with various departments across the films I worked on helped me better appreciate the technical and logistical demands of production and ultimately preparing me for future opportunities as a well-rounded and informed producer.
